Empower 11+ Grammar Tuition offers mock exams to help children prepare for the grammar school entrance examinations. It is important for any parent considering entering their child for a mock exam to understand the advantages and disadvantages of choosing the right provider. The mock exams I administer fulfil the purposes identified below, which I believe are essential in ensuring the mock exams are an effective tool in helping your child prepare for the entrance exam.
Purpose:
- assess where your child is in their progress and attainment, performed at timely intervals leading up to the grammar school entrance exams.
- parents and students receive a detailed report of how the child has performed in maths, reading comprehension, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning.
- mock exams are separate to tuition lessons; however, to be effective, their results are used to inform future teaching and therefore address any identified gaps in learning.
- they resemble as closely as possible with the format, time limits and subject content of the grammar school entrance exams; this is to enable students to become more familiar with exam conditions and to build their confidence for sitting the actual entrance exams.
